The "Liquid Bomb" Plot: Overhyped or Underreported?Barring any major revelations, this first poll will close sometime around September 1.

Hi,
I voted under reported. Mostly because I think it was NOT over hyped. If it had been successful, by god would that have messed sht up.
I don't think enough info is out about it yet.
1) If the perps didn't have passports - Overhyped.
2) If the liquid Bomb is as difficult to build as advertised - Overhyped.
3) If the charges stick, and the perps go down - Underreported.
4) If the Pakistani connection and the ensuing investigation turn up more perps - Undereported.
Having read a little on the chemistry of the intended bomb, we had little to fear. Besides, creating high-yield explosives of any kind tends to be very dangerous. When any appreciable amount accumulates, it tends to explode very quickly. On an airplane, where conditions are far from ideal, detonation would occur before enough of the explosive was created to damage the plane enough to crash.
